SHOW FO, AND MO TO GO

ANTHONY'S COAL FIRED PIZZA (TASTY EXAMPLE ABOVE,
THE OFFICIAL PIZZA OF THE SHOW AND WEB SITE.

JO-JO WALKER
                                                      DAN CHAPPELOW

Once again, I was joined in studio by long time
friends, Radio DJ JoJo Walker, and Comedian,
Dan Chappelow.

Between bites of Pizza, we talked movies and movie stars with St. Pete Times Film Critic
Steve Piersall, who told us about an interview he just had with superstar Jamie Foxx.
Foxx, Steve said, was extremely gracious, and funny, though Steve agreed with me that
his last film, THE SOLOIST, was about as much fun as being stuck in an elevator
for three hours with the top 3 finishers in the Seffner Bean Eating Contest.

Food guests included the owner of LA FOGATA, in Gulfport. A very romantic Rotisserie Style
restaurant that has just added a regular menu.  At Lo Fogata, you can now enjoy the world famous KOBE BEEF FILET, for under 40 dollars!  That's amazing, since these steaks have been known to sell for several hundred dollars..PER SERVING!!!  Look for pictures next week, since I have a dinner date at La Fogata before the August 29th show.  My other food guest, was John Lee, owner of the worlds best affordable steakhouse, the Sioux City Steakhouse in New Port Richey.  Click on their logo on my sponsor page, and take a look.  Then go there and enjoy. John told a very funny story about how a chance encounter with a world famous singer changed his life, forever.  That audio, is on this page.  I've gotten a lot of comments on it.

I also received many comments about my interview with long time friend, Bob Fontaine.  Bob's dad was Frank Fontaine, Frank Sinatra's favorite singer, and the man who played the character "Crazy Guggenheim" on the Jackie Gleason show in the 1960's.  Go to You Tube and punch in Crazy Guggenheim.  There are a handful of videos there, showcasing Frank Fontaine's work. Bob currently works with his son, who owns BIG U MEDIA, a very successful local ad agency. In the 1980's, Bob and I wrote and produced all the radio commercials, nationwide, for the OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE.  Bob's Agency came up with their first three jingles, and that distinctive sound is still used today.

Catch the show this Saturday.  My special, in studio Co-Host is local T.V. Star Bill Murphy.  Bob should have those original Outback Jingles, which are as good as any hit single back then, Steve Piersall will be chatting up movies again, and the Tampa Improv will bring us not one, but two, hugely funny comics.

Don't forget to call the show.  Chat up your favorite restaurant.  Give em a plug.  That's what the show is all about.

SHOW 03, AUGUST 15, 2009

If you missed the food and fun, don't miss it again. Improv Headliner Jo Koy was on the air a couple of times, to share his CLEAN Humor with us. And, Bay News 9/Tampa Bay On Demand
Reporter, Virginia Johnson, (pictured in our mutually shared office with my direct boss,
Producer Extraordinaire, Jennifer Stefen) called in, to talk about two of her current stories
on Ch. 340. A Wildlife Sanctuary Story, and, all about the latest ON THE TOWN, Enterainment
Craze...POP QUIZ TRIVIA. Doug Jackson, one of the Jackson Sons who run Bill Jackson's SHOP FOR ADVENTURE, was on the air today, telling us all about this 40 THOUSAND FOOT Store full of FUN!
Call 727-576-4169 for ALL YOUR OUTDOOR ADVENTURE NEEDS. Tell em long time friend and customer Mike Reeves, said HI THERE!!!!!!

RESTAURANT THANKS

3 weeks, 3 shows. And I've already lost track of all the Restaurants I've told you about. That's what this blog is for, right? YESS! Let's start, by saying a huge THANKS to my favorite steak house on the planet, Gallaghers Steak House in Channel Side.
Not only did Executive Chef, Arthur Fuller, (pictured right below), join me on the Radio Show between 5 and 7pm
on News Talk 820, WWBA, to share his secrets of making the BEST STEAK ON THE PLANET! He also cooked,
and even SERVED some of the food!!!
I took my wife, my 12 year old, and my 21 year old daughter, to celebrate her moving out west to go to one of the best nursing colleges in America. Expensive? You bet. But, she's taking out a loan, working hard, and, because Gallaghers had a SPECIAL PRICE Promotion going on, I could afford to eat there, AND, still help her with college expenses.

Check out the Special Deals page for Gallaghers current, mind blowing special.
SURF AND TURF...LOBSTER AND FILET...FULL DINNERS...FOR ONE CRAZY LOW PRICE!!!
More, on why I want to thank them, down below.First though, thanks also, to Al
Wolff with Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. Al graciously catered the show, with
4 AWESOME Pies, including, my favorite..PEPPERONI.

I'm also partial to the one to the below..NO SAUCE!! Just
Homemade Mozzarella, Fresh Sliced Tomatos, and Basil!! Cooked for about
4 minutes at 900 degrees in Anthony's Anthracite Coal Fired Ovens, well, what
can I say?How about WOW!!!!! Since Anthony's has no freezers, or fryers,
or microwaves, everything is not only Fresh!!! But, often, extremely healthy.
And, always, TASTY!!

If you missed the show, you also missed legendary film critic for the St. Pete Times, Steve Piersall (he assures me there is
a picture of him somewhere that I'll be able to post soon). Steve couldn't say enough good things about the new Sci Fi Flick
DISTRICT 9! He says it is already, one of his 10 best of the year! I saw it, based on his recommendation, and I will add this to
his glowing review. It has a completely fresh look, brilliant direction. But it is NOT a POPCORN THRILLER. No matter what you 12 year old may say to entice you to take him, I would say, DON'T GIVE IN. TONS AND TONS.. of "F-BOMBS". But,

that is not why I'd keep the kids away. The real reason
is, it's a THINKERS movie. It ALMOST comes across,
as a documentary. And, it's consistently, DARK, in tone, and story line. And don't bring the wife either, unless
she HATES CHICK FLICKS. Because this is the opposite of that. If you're wife is a "chick flick/romantic comedy" kind of gal,
then only take her with you to see DISTRICT 9, if you truly enjoy being b****ed at for 2 hours.
As Steve said, drop her off at THE TIME TRAVELERS WIFE, while you watch DISCTRICT 9, or, Jeremy Piven, in
THE GOODS. The added bonus, to that scenario, is, the wife may be extra nice to you afterwards, since,
in The Time Travelers Wife, star ERIC BANA, is buck naked quite often.

Finally, BIG THANKS, to long time friends, and co workers, Jo Jo Walker, and Dan Chappelow. I have known them both, since the early 1980's, when we all worked at a radio station together here in Tampa Bay. Jo Jo, is semi retired, making a good living as a professional Master of Ceremony's. He is also the man to call in Land O'Lakes, Pasco, and Polk County, for advertising informatation for this Web Site and Radio Show. Contact Jo Jo, through me, through my contact page, on this web site. Also with me in the NEWS TALK 820 WWBA Studio's Saturday Aug. 15, 2009, was Dan Chappelow. Dan is a professional comedian, and business associate. Dan handles some ad sales for this web site and show, in Pinellas and Hillsborough County. He is VERY FUNNY..and, with the on air help of the two of them for this show, I felt that there were many instances where the show sounded as good, if not better, than all other so called, wacky,"MORNING SHOWS" out there. And folks, pass it around. While we may spill a little food now and then, content wise, we "WORK CLEAN".

SHOW #2 AUGUST 8, 2009

FUN IN TARPON SPRINGS.

SHOW #2, AUGUST 8, 2009. The night before, Tampa Bay on Demand Reporter Rachel Erikson, and Photographer C.J. and I did a DINING OUT piece at Mykonos Greek Cookery, on Dodocanese Blvd.

Rachel then went on to THE ZONE, an "Artsy" nightclub in Tarpon, and told us all about that on the show the next day.

BILL MURHPY, NOW ON CHANNEL 340. He told us about that, and more, on the radio show. Bill's a long time friend, and, for a short period, a part of my extended family! Bill and I were actually married to the same woman..but not at the same time. He was a great step dad to my daughter for a very important part of her life. She's doing great, and he's part of the reason. Not only that, but he's pretty good on T.V. Catch MURPHY'S HOT SPOTS, on Tampa Bay On Demand Channel 340.

The good looking lady to the right is the super popular ON THE TOWN REPORTER VIRGINIA JOHNSON. She's a radio show regular, who knows everything that's fun, from one end of the Bay Area to the Other. Check out her reports on Channel 340, and listen to her Saturdays with me from 5 to 7pm on NEWS TALK 820 WWBA! On Saturday, August 8, we found out all about Busch Gardens Summer Nights..where you can ride COASTERS IN THE DARK, and Catch Amazing
Shows!
Including the amazing SINGER/MAGICIAN, DARREN ROMEO, pictured below.

Also new to the show, and now a regular, is St. Pete Times Film Critic, Steve Piersall. He gave 3 out of 4 THUMBS UP, to the New Quentin Tarantino Flick, Inglorious Basterds, and, THE COVE, a documentary that Steve says plays almost like a James Bond Thriller. Lady's, just because Brad Pitt is in it, it is NOT, a CHICK FLICK!!! You've been Warned.

Catch Steve Piersall from the St. Pete Times between 5 and 7 pm this Saturday, on NEWS TALK 820,
WWBA..ON WINING AND DINING WITH MIKE REEVES!!!!!!
And don't miss the SATURDAY AUGUST 15TH SHOW.

With LIVE COMEDY from the TAMPA IMPROV, and a long look at two of my FAVORITE RESTAURANTS, OF ALL TIME. Gallagher's Steak House in Channelside....

The NEW YORK STRIP...was INVENTED, At the original GALLAGERS in NEW YORK!!!

And, ANTHONY'S COAL FIRED PIZZA. YUMMMMMMMMMY!!
